1977 Silver Cinelli Super Corsa

Jim's obsession with vintage road bikes is perhaps even slightly more so when it comes to Cinelli of which Jim has a total of four.  This particular one was acquired through the internet before the days of Ebay and its subsequent domination of the vintage bike market.  Jim was able to locate period correct early model Campy Super Record components to form a complete groupo. Unfortunately the frame had a huge ugly scrape on the seat tube due to careless shipping at some point in its travels.  Again, around 1998, Brian Baylis came to the rescue.  He pointed out that the paint was a rare metallic gray that was also used on Alfa Romeo cars and that it would potentially  lessen the value of the bike if he were to repaint the entire frame.  Instead, he flawlessly retouched the scraped area and even fixed an area where the scrape had also damaged the world champion decals.  The repair is virtually undetectable and serves as yet another example of his prodigious skills which are, sadly, no longer available to us. Bike is for sale to a good home.
